Ashtabula home damaged by fire

ASHTABULA — A fire on the second story of 844 W. Prospect Circle caused an estimated $10,000 damage Friday afternoon, according to Ashtabula Fire Department reports.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5:02 p.m. and found fire coming out of the second-floor windows, reports show. Crews advanced a hose line to the second floor and extinguished the fire and then conducted a search of the building, which was determined to be clear.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 6:50 p.m., checking for hot spots, reports show.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ashtabula Fire Department. Ashtabula Township firefighters provided mutual aid.
